if loud noise is a big problem i would reccomend getting a cockatiel, pionus, or a meyers parrot those are supposed to be quiet but if you have your heart set on a nanday you will need to spend as much time as possible with it and it will most likely have good behavior and be quiet you should also google nanday conures there are a couple good websites like parrotparrot and avian web, hope this helps

Why is my baby robin breathing so hard!!!!!?

there was a robin that decided to put its nest right in front of a cats house.The cats love to eat birds.I find it eating them all the time.So i kept an eye out for the cat to make sure it dousnt eat any of the baby robins.Soon after that i came to check up on them and the babies and mother were all gone!They were way to little to fly yet.They didnt even have all of thier feathers yet.Then i heard some chirping near by.Thier was one little robin in the bushes just waiting to get eaten by the cat.The mom was no where to be found so i took it home fed it some food and everything.There is no rehabilitor place near me that i can go to to help save the baby robin!i have been feading it dog canned food with liver and beef in it and mixing water into the food, i just put a hot waterbottle on it with a cloth on top for it dousnt get burned.The first day and the second day was fine but know she is hardly satnding up!She is also breathing very deeply! i dont know whats wrong!

What I can recomend you do is a water change. Maybe 50%-75%. In case you don't know just use a bucket or if they have a gravel vacume to take out 50% of the water. There is no garenty the fish will survive. And don't evan think of putting febreze or any air freshener to make things smell better, that will make the situation even worse.

How do crickets chirp?

Crickets chirp to indicate readiness to mate by rubbing their forewings together. I feed crickets to my gecko, so I'm often able to approach them in a stealthy sort of way and catch them at it. Can you put the cage outside? Not with the door open, of course, but if she's tame, she should fly back to it. I have caught birds this way. She needs to be able to see her friend. Problem is if she's not tame you will need another cage with lots of food in it to entice her and tie a string to the door so you can shut it when she's in the cage. Good luck.

Baby birds by my front door - are they being fed?

Leave the birds alone..they are being cared for. Birds sleep at night..when they are very young, the parent(s) will sleep in the nest with the baby birds..it is important not to scare them off of the nest at night as they have poor night vision and may not find their way back to the nest. Once the chicks are older and more feathered, the parent will no longer sleep with them but will sleep elsewhere and return in the day to feed and care for them. The eggs NEED to be incubated to hatch..so yes, they are being cared for. If they were not being fed they would be dead.

My leopard geckos toes are gone!?

I recently purchased a leopard gecko. I don't know anything about it cause the person who sold it to me said she got it from a reptile show who didn't know anything about it ether. I think its quite old cause it moves rather slow and is more rinkily than my other gecko. When I bought her I knew something was wrong cause she had a very unique and pretty pattern that iv never seen before but she was only 20 dollars. I inspected her before I got her and she didn't seem sick. She also had a kinda skinny tail but I was sure I could fix that with some butterworms and waxworms. anyway I looked at her toes today and the tips were missing on alot of them! She only has a few good nails let. The others were all bent and mangled so I clipped them(very carefully) on one foot she has only 1 nail! I feel sorry for her as she cant climb well and is slow. All the toes with missing nail have healed up so I see no need to take her to a vet. She has been eating very well to. Today she ate about 6 butterworms and 10 black soldier fly larvae. The other did not eat. Will the nails ever grow back? Or is she doomed to have no nails for the rest of her life? When I picked her up to take a look at her toes I had to hold her a certain way and sometimes she would make a very soft chirp kinda noise. Like a small squeak. Is that normal?

My throats been hurting really bad and it just started today, i had minor discomfort but no pain yesterday. There was no way to put this little guy back in the nest on the side of a building 30 feet up. He was on the hot pavement in a parking lot and it was 107 degrees. He was so dehydrated. He won't eat except for little bits that I put on the side of his beak. Can't get him to open his mouth. But I do see a little food in his crop. I have a Baby Meadowlark?

Okay i found a baby meadowlark in the middle of my arena & decided to put it back over in the bushes where i thought it came from, so it's mother could find it. While riding i heard it crying & found that the cat had gotten it & was chasing it. So i caught it (and screamed at the cat) and miraculously it's unhurt. However, the mother was caught by the cat, (as i found out when i was chasing the little thing around and found her) and now i'm here with a baby bird. We looked it up on the internet and decided it was a baby eastern meadowlark, and absolutely adorable. I fed him 8 crickets dipped them in water so he would get both water and food. He quieted down for a moment, but now he's chirping away again. Of course i don't mind the little thing, or taking care of her (as we believe since she is so brown) but i was wondering if there was some bird expert out there who knew about how much she should eat a day? and if her cricket/worm/anything else i can catch diet is good for her? Once the chicks hatch they are capable of chirping. When you are candling the eggs you are looking for a web of veins that indicates the embryo is alive. During the coarse of the incubation the embryo will become apparent and grow in size. If you happen to notice a large dark pool in the side or bottom of the egg it means the embryo has died. With ducks and geese it is possible for the unhatched bird to make peeping sounds. Tons of fun too. Good luck.

I think God is contacting me through birds, is this possible?

When I'm in the kitchen of my house there are often birds chirping outside, sometimes very peaceful, other times there is a constant LOUD chirping when I'm doing things I probably shouldn't be doing. I'm very overweight & if I go to eat something they usually chirp loudly.. I'm not crazy I swear, lol. :) BUT I do smoke marijuana..& one night around 5:30 in the morning on April 20th (4/20 National Weed Holiday Blah).. I was high.. smoking weed.. about to eat some SERIOUS munchies. Then I hear a huge flock of what sounds like angry SEA GULLS... like wtf?? like they sounded vicious.. like demons. I thought I was tripping? But then I went to the other side of the kitchen to where my food was cooking & in my back yard there was a quiet peaceful bird.. I left the weed on the other side. I was tripping thinking it was a sign so I went back to the other side and heard the sea gulls.. wow I must really look crazy right now. Uhm but yeah so once I threw out the food the sea gulls stopped being so loud & the peaceful bird wasnt chirping constantly any more. idk its weird but thats what I think? Or maybe is it the devil? Because the sea gulls were SCARY sounding.. would God try to scare me? Hi fellow seniors, have you ever made or tried homemade ice cream?

My family spent many a summer evening taking turns turning the crank, on our big wrap-around front porch, especially during June strawberry season becuase we grew our own berries. We always invited someone, ususally our grandparents who lived very close. If a neighbor drove by, my parents would wave them in and tell one of us kids to go get more bowls. We also had wild strawberries and although we didn't like stemming them because of their small size, they were the best. We made vanila and put the strawberries on top. In Nursing school, my surgery and pediatric instructors who lived next door to each other always had a homemade ice cream party for the student nurses in the summer. One made strawberry, the other made peach. It's just the best. Now I think I might buy one so my grandson can have the experience, but it will be electric.

I think my budgie stopping caring for the chicks!?

The mom was taking very good care of her babies for around a week. 1 baby is 9 days old, the other baby is 7 days old, and the third baby is only a day old! There is still one more egg and I candled that egg and the baby is still a live inside and i feel the baby moving inside and hear tapping. Well the mom is starting to come out of the nest box A LOT! She comes out and her and the male keep regurgitating and when she is done, she doesn't go back inside. The babies will be calling for her and she doesn't go back in. She goes in only sometimes now. The newly hatched baby is gonna be 2 days old by tomorrow and i checked him and he isn't being fed. He should have by now. He keeps going under neath the bigger chicks so maybe the mom doesn't see him? When i move that baby to the side, he just crawls back under them. This new baby keeps chirping a lot though for food and hasn't been fed yet. It would be horrible for this baby to die. I do know that they still go in sometimes but its just that the mom isn't sitting on her babies much now and they are cuddling together for warmth and that i still don't see food in that new babies crop. How to avoid getting car sick?

I always get car sick for long car rides that are about more than an hour. I'm going to San Francisco with my good friends next week and I don't want to barf in front of them..again. Why Do My Eyes Change Color?

I naturally have icy blue eyes, sometimes they appear to be grey and from the side they look minty/sea foamy green. If you think you have a low milk supply try pumping ... maybe that will help you to produce more milk and your baby will have less frustration when trying to feed. Also u didn't mentioned the age of your baby, but it could also be nipple confusion. If she is easily getting more formula from a bottle she will most likely want to eat that way. My little bird died, I can't stop crying?

We first found him 2 days ago, it was a small baby bird. We tried to find its mother but couldn't, so we took him home. He had most of his feathers and was learning how to eat on his own and flying a little. When I feed ed him, he opened his mouth and it was very cute. I held him in my fingers, and sometimes he would jump off. He chirped a lot. We bought him a pet cage and put him inside. I fed him 3 times a day. We put him outside so he can get some sunlight. If you can't take it to a rehabilitation facility, you should really put it out of its misery. The chances for a healthy baby bird being rehabed by somebody with little experience is very low, and with an injury like this, I can almost guarantee that he wont survive. I'm really sorry that thats probably the only thing you can do, but you have the chance to do it in a humane way. My recommendation (if its still a small bird) would be to place him in a freezer bag and try to press out as much air as possible, then place him gently in your freezer. This is how a vet told me to put rescued baby bunnies to sleep, and apparently its the most peaceful at-home method for euthanasia. I'm really sorry, but thats probably the kindest thing you can do for it now.

Budgie with Dislocated Leg? Help!?

Ive only had my budgie for a couple days and while she was on my finger she jumped and crashed on the table (her wings are clipped). Now her leg looks dislocated. She doesnt seem to be in pain, shes eating and tried climbing about in her cage and chirping. She doesnt put pressure on the foot and leans to one side. The toes arnt clenched but spread out like normal but she doesnt move her foot or toes. Its sort of limp but it does not dangle. I normally would take her to a vet but I just spend a few hundred $$ on my cats and I dont have the money right now. I know having a pet means you need to be able to pay for a vet but I didnt expect this to happen only a couple days after I bought her! So is my birds leg dislocated? Will it heal on its own? Is there anything I can do for her? (I have her in a box covered with no perches and have given food and water in there)

hi rachel,if what your doing at the moment works i would continue, in time ( not too long ) i would try and get her attention by calling her name,and without treats.if someone comes along and you know that it is going to be a trigger, get in there before the person comes close enough and tell her "good girl" say it as many times as is necessary or you can say what you would normally say to her.so basically she is concentrating on what you are saying.by the time your finished hopefully the distraction will have passed. be patience and ye will get there best of luck.

Birds chirping at night? ?

This week these birds that must have a nest in a tree outside my window have been chirping late into the night. It only started this past week and I'm not sure what kind of bird would be up this late because the chirping doesn't start until around 11 pm. I live out in the country in the piedmont region of NC on a road that isn't too busy at night. There isn't any light except for one street light and the moon so I don't know why the birds would be out this late. Any ideas what type of bird it might be?

Ive had depression for 5 and a half months now, and cant deal with this pain anymore. I have been suicidal for 4 months, and im really surprised i havent killed myself yet. If i did i would prob slit my throat, overdose, or jump. I saw a neurophycscologist 2day 4 a severe concussion i got 5 and a half months ago, and i just found out i have a permanment reading disability, (just makes my life so much better rite). i hav 2 get toutoring 10hrs a week 4 the 4 months of school work i missed. Thats just going 2 ruin my summer. I get nonstop migraines everyday since jan 2011, (when i got the concusssion), i get so dizzy everyday, that im nauseous, and i throw up, i barely eat anymore. I cant sleep at night and i end up cutting myself deeper and deeper everyday. Ive got over 20 cuts on my body and no1 has noticed them yet bcuz im so good at hiding, and faking everything in life. I always tried 2 put on a "happy face", and act like nothing was wrong all day durin school, then i wud come home, grab a knife and cut myself. Its the only thing that keeps me from suicide. Even my boyfriend dosent see how much pain im in. He knows i hav depression, and he knows i cut myself once, but he thought i stopped 3 months ago. And i hav 2 b careful of what i say cuz his mom works in a mental hospital, and there is no way in hell i want 2 end up there. I hate life, the other day i cut the words f. u. c. k. the world onto my leg. Im so tired of no1 understanding, all the emotional and physical pain i go through everyday. Since i cant sleep at night i basicly break down, holding a razor blade in my hand and do whatever comes to mind. I look up those suicide guides that r supposed to help, (well it just makes it worse for me, and everytime i talk about it i get worse also.) so there is no way im calling a suicide hotline, they would prob send the cops on me anyway... Im goin to a therapist thursday but i might kill myself b4 then, how can i get through the nxt couple of nites? Btw im 13

Help Taming Parakeet?

I suggest gettin two different cages for the two birds until it is tame. Bad habits can rub off on the already trained bird as well and they wont really bond to you if they have each other. To tame the other bird I suggest sitting next to its cage and talking softly too it for about ten minutes a few times a day. Do that for a week or so or until it feels ok with you being there. Then try putting your hand in the cage and just leave it there with some millet in your hand but if he/she starts flying around the cage and freaking out back off immediately and start again. once that is done take her/him out of the cage and just sit with it awhile giving it treats and talking softly. Do the step up step down thing as well with these birds repetition is always best. Birds like consistency. Dont rush the process though or you could destroy whatever trust the bird has for you. This is what I have done with all my birds and they are great. Just remember to respect their space that cage is their home where they feel safe and can/will retreat to when they feel scared. If they do that put them back for a while and try again in an hour or so. I hoped this helps!

Chickens may chirp just prior to hatching, day 21. They may not chirp much if at all, but they'll be rolling around as they hatch. Just let them rest and dry off before removing them from the incubator. When candling you're looking for a dark mass in the egg that seems kind of reddish with blood vessels. I'm not great at candling, myself...but that's what you're looking for. Try searching for some pictures online to see exactly what to expect.

ok so i have 2 budgie females. 1 baby and 1 adult. my baby is hand trained when i got her and sits on my shoulder and will sometimes eat out of my hand and steps up on my finger. my other one wont do anything but go on my finger and try to bite me and lean back and get away. my baby trained one does it too. but she lets me do all of this. she still bites though and tries to fly away. what im saying is that my trained baby is afraid but not afraid. and when i put budgie noise on they both love it and get all cosy and sleep. they chirp too. btu when its off they are dead silenced and afraid. i cant keep the budgie noises going all day, but i want them to feel comfortable. by the way i have owned them for 2 months. also fresh food and water EVERYDAY!

Do baby chick make noises if they're hungry or do they do that normally?

I found a baby bird on my porch - please help!!!?

I just looked out my front door and saw a baby bird on my front porch. I'm guessing he's a baby because all of his feathers aren't in yet, he still has that fluffy soft stuff on him (if that makes sense). I don't see any nests near my porch, but he keeps trying to fly away and get on my roof it looks like. I don't know who to call - I don't think animal control will help him. Please help, my heart is breaking listening to his little chirps out there!

External Hard disk Problem....Heeeeeeelp..!!?

I have a Toshiba 500GB external hard disk & have been using it for 4 months with my laptop, but after my desktop came from repair, the person who repaired it put kaspersky 6.0 antivirus on it.When i connected my harddisk to my pc, kaspersky blocked it from opening.Now when I connected it back to my laptop, it won't recognize a as a harddisk as it used to before , instead it says "Removable Disk D" & when i try to access it dosnt opn...it says "Please enter a Disk in Removable Disk D"....pleeeeease help...wat shod i do...???i hav lots of things on the hard disk wich i dnt wnt 2 loose....

What does it mean when a baby bird chirps all the time.?

I found a baby bird in my yard and I waited to see if the mom would come. She was chirping really loud and after a couple hours waiting I just when and got her. She has feathers but she is really small. I'm guessing shes getting ready to fly. I have chickens and I heard baby birds will eat baby chicken food so I gave her that. I think she ate some of that and she ate the bread in water. She chirps in her sleep as well. When I fed her I tried to feed her again but she kept moving her head so I was guessing she was full but I'm not sure. Should I feed her every time she chirps? She likes the lights out to and my room is really hot because she still needs warmth.

Hi had a similar situation with a baby dove- bring the bird in at night time as they do not feed at that time and keep it warm. During the day place him in the spot where you found it the mother should find him and start feeding him on the ground (make sure there's nothing that will catch the little bird in the open such as cats or ealges). If he doesn't get fed by the pasents try plain pronutro that's mixed with water. This can be administered through a spoon that is sligthlt bent inwards or syringe. Good luck

Female cockatiels as pets?

If you've had a female cockatiel (or even better, a male and female so you can compare), please tell me how they are as pets. I have read that males are louder and like to be cuddled, but I am worried about sound levels. I have a conure (she is relatively quiet... No screaming. She chirps and calls to me and that's okay). I'm worried because they are in my living room and my dad does his work in there, and I don't want him to be annoyed. I do want a whistler though, and a fun, cuddly little cockatiel. How different are males and females in personality, because from what I have read they seem quite different.

My parrotlet might be sick.?

I was gone all day today and had asked my mom to watch my parrotlet. Once I got home I asked how he was and she admitted that she had kept him in his family room cage for an hour, then put him in the bed room cage away from interaction for about 8 hours with no contact!!! He was acting kind of sleepy and fluffy when I was leaving, and once I got home and took him out of his cage, he was still fluffed up wherever he walked. He ate a bunch of millet so I assume it's good that he's eating, but I'm afraid he is sick. I have had him for about 4 weeks and I have notices he has a kind of white line around his ceer and his beak gets sortof..... Dry looking. He drinks lots of water and is eating allot of food but is staying fluffed up when I hold him and when he is walking around. This is the first time I have noticed this behavior in him, oh and when he was eating, he was making this weird chirp that I have never heard him do before. Any one have any ideas as to what are wrong with him??? Thanks.

How do I live the rest of my life with my husbands insane famile?

Im 18, married with a 8month old child. When I got married, my husband wasn't around much as he's in the military, so his family weren't that much of a hassle (although his mom has always been an obbessive nutball). the only time I would ever really hav e to have any sort of relationship with his family was when he was home, or if hed spoken to them and asked of theyd seen the baby recently, then theyd see him and tell my husband about it for the next month. Since he's been home for parental leave (he got home in april) they havent left us alone. His crazy alcoholic mother, who goes to the ER for completely stupid reasons atleast once a week, calls atleast 6 times a day, including at like 5am. Ive asked her to stop, but my hisband never stands up for us. His grandmother gets mad at me because my sons going through seperation anxiety and only wants ME. his entire family put me down constantly, and yesyerday, when my husbands grandparents invited us for supper, and I asked numerous times if we should bring something.. His grandmother made ONLY meat dishes, when she has known that im a vegetarian since the first ti me I met her 4 years ago.. Please advise me on ehat to do about these dumb peiple

Why do I keep thinking that I smell bad?

I shower every morning, wear clean clothes, wear deodorant and even use a bit of body spray. I listerine and chew minty gum so I don't have bad breathe but now that it's summer every once in awhile I will catch a whiff of something during the day that smells like b.o and I keep thinking it's me. Other people don't seem to think I smell, and are quiet close to me at times and even tell me I smell good. I think I have some phobia of smelling bad or something, but if I don't smell bad why do I keep smelling something weird on me?

Having trouble installing LOTR BFME 2?

I'm trying to install the lord of the rings the battle for middle earth 2 on my PC but it stops at 19% on the file data\movies\CS51.vp6 and says "a problem occured when trying to transfer the file 'E:\data\movies\CS51.vp6' from the media.". i hav tried installing in safemode and the same thing happens. I havent found an answer to this problem though i have searched. idk if its related but i also tried to install bfme1 and the installation went fine but i got a runtime error when i tried to play it. Pregnant ghost shrimp eggs changed color?

I got a female ghost shrimp that is pregnant. I got her... day before yesterday I think. When I got her the eggs were dark brown, with white/clear dots. Yesterday they started turning a minty green, and now they are white-ish clear. Is she ready to have them? What should I expect? How should I feed them? I've heard you can crush tropical flakes to thin powder, and that should help. I have the female in a 10 gallon with a male. No other fish.i have made hiding places small enough that they can hide from adoult ghost shrimp if they need to... I think. I've turned to filter off so they wouldn't get sucked in. I don't really have a sponge to put in it, but i'm looking for one. Again, is she about ready to have her fry?

If you can reach the nest you can go ahead and try to put him back. If he hops out again then he probably is a fledgling and will be ok. The other answers are wrong, robins don't have a strong enough sense of smell to know if the baby has been touched. The mother won't abandon it.

Budgie abandoned chicks!? Help! Urgent?

The mom was taking very good care of her babies for around a week. 1 baby is 9 days old, the other baby is 7 days old, and the third baby is only a day old! There is still one more egg and I candled that egg and the baby is still a live inside and i feel the baby moving inside and hear tapping. Well the mom is starting to come out of the nest box A LOT! She comes out and her and the male keep regurgitating and when she is done, she doesn't go back inside. The babies will be calling for her and she doesn't go back in. She goes in only sometimes now. The newly hatched baby is gonna be 2 days old by tomorrow and i checked him and he isn't being fed. He should have by now. He keeps going under neath the bigger chicks so maybe the mom doesn't see him? When i move that baby to the side, he just crawls back under them. This new baby keeps chirping a lot though for food and hasn't been fed yet. It would be horrible for this baby to die. I do know that they still go in sometimes but its just that the mom isn't sitting on her babies much now and they are cuddling together for warmth and that i still don't see food in that new babies crop. So....What do i do? And how do i know for sure that the mom is definably not taking care of them. I didn't really want to hand feed them cuz I don't know how... please help!
