Gum stuck in bottom of purse, help!!!?

i have a purse and i threw a piece of chews gum wrapped in a little piece of paper in there. i totally forgot to take it out when i got up and now its stuck to the bottoms of my purse! the minty smell is making me sick kinda and all my stuff in there smells! i rubbed it with a wet towel but it wont come up! how can i get it out?
