What are these soars in my mouth?

I have these painful areas back by my molars on the left side of my mouth. there's one on top on the inside part of my cheek i guess, and the other is on the bottom kind of in that little pocket area where my cheek ends and my gums start. they hurt whenever i move my mouth around (so talking). it sucks. is it like a burn or something? i think i was sucking on a lifesaver the other day on that side of my mouth...could the minty part of it do that to my mouth?
